The Drake Hotel understands the importance of preserving our environment. In an effort to increase the sustainability of the hotel, we’ve implemented the following practices and programs:
Paint products, batteries and used aerosol cans are recycled
Use of energy-saving light bulbs
Mix stream hotel recycling program
Pens made from recycled materials are used
No linens used for meeting classroom set-up tables
Water served in pitchers, not bottles
Unused guest room amenities are donated to a local homeless shelter
Hilton Green Initiative
Bed linens are replaced after the fourth occupied day or upon guest request
Bathrooms linens may be reused by guests
Cocktail napkins in outlets are green seal-approved and 100% recycled
Dining outlets feature locally-farmed and organic products on all menus
In addition, all hotel employees strive to contribute to the overall sustainability of the hotel by utilizing paper recycling bins and reducing energy and water usage.
The Drake is proud to partner with Bin Donated to recycled and distributed remnant toiletries and other amenities to Chicago area homeless shelters and other charities that support temporary displaced communities. We believe that considering the environment and caring for the Chicago communities is the responsibility of all of us and are honored to be a part of Bin Donated's program of Chicago hotels coming together to help the Chicago at-risk communities.
