March 29th, The Drake Hotel will go above and beyond in its commitment to going green. Every year hotels in Chicago participate in Earth hour: shutting off electronics and extra efforts toward using public transportation from 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM.
This year The Drake will not only turn off its signature skyline sign, it will dim all public lights and every one of our restaurants will serve dinner by candlelight. Come sip literal green cocktails while going figuratively green. For our fine restaurant options please visit the dining page.
Easter at The Drake starts promptly at 9:30 AM, April 20th. Guests may make reservations for any 30 minute interval for brunch until 3 PM. Seating is limited, reservations can be made through Open Table for Palm Court, or through the operators for Gold Coast seating: 312.787.2200.
As part of our Drake tradition, a children’s room will be available with a theater, balloon specialist, caricature artist, and face painter. For children there will also be an hourly Easter egg hunt with prizes, for adults Palm Court will feature the smooth styling of the Steve Biossat Trio.
Easter Sunday and Mother’s Day are only three weeks apart—book for both and save 10%!

When The Drake’s Cape Cod Room was envisioned, prior to the 1933 World’s Fair, architect Benjamin Marshall and, at the time, unknown folk artist Peter Hunt set out to create a transformative East Coast atmosphere. Between Marshall and Hunt they created an urban hideaway where the atmosphere was fine, but not refined.
Over 80 years later everything remains as originally imagined by the two founding visionaries: the old-fashioned, faded, tavern signs; hanging lobster traps and chowder kettles. But, now, dozens of national culinary awards reside next to those curiosities.
Re-opening its doors on February 1, 2014 with renewed flooring, replacing the original 1930’s tiling, and a revamped menu to match – the Cape Cod has hit its stride once again. Chef Franco Diaz has flipped old favorites alongside innovative new creations. Cure your hankering for East Coast cuisine with The Drake’s signature Bookbinder Soup, Beer Battered Oysters, Prosciutto Wrapped Crispy White Fish Saltimbocca, or any one of the delicious Drake dining options.
Join us for dinner Wednesday through Sunday 5:30 PM to 10 PM.
The Drake Hotel is proud to present February’s Movie Monday classics in Palm Court. First, on February 10th at 7PM witness Scarlet Street. Watch as Edward G.
