PALM COURT

Where mothers and daughters, sisters and friends partake in the ceremonial holiday rite of passage that is afternoon tea at The Drake, accompanied by scrumptious seasonal pastries. Cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres are also served daily. And as the centerpiece, the grand fountain is an ever-present silent fundraiser for area charities.

Three-course meal to include a complimentary bottle of champagne for each couple. Live swing sextet. Black tie. $165 per person, must be 21 or older.

COQ D’OR

When the holiday parties are over, the real fun begins. With executive-sized cocktails, wines, beers and comfort foods, Coq d’Or is a popular meeting place for locals and hotel guests to celebrate the season and ring in the New Year. The legendary bar opened its doors one day after the repeal of Prohibition on December 6, 1933, and hasn’t missed a night since.
